yellow lab-mix, ran from the car after the accident and is

embroidered on the collar, has two tags with contact numbers, and
could be attached to a green leash. She has a pink spot on her nose,
is 3-4 years old and weighs around 50 lbs. There is a $1000 reward
for her return. Robin is very badly injured. If you can help
search for Abbey at area shelters or post flyers about her, please

Louise, Hurricane Survivor, Continues To Thrive!
 Updated Photo of
Louise | We have a happy update
to a success story we brought you long ago. As you all recall,
Louise was a beautiful, sweet Pit Bull who survived Hurricane
Katrina and was rescued by Indianapolis
Animal Care & Control and brought to Indiana. Then, two of
Indiana-PAW's
foster parents, Rae and Don Steeb, stepped up to the plate to foster
Louise. Then, ASTRO
Pitbull Rescue sponsored Louise's adoption. Louise was adopted
by a wonderful family, who continue to send the Steeb family photos
of Louise in her loving, permanent home. Here's a photo we received
of Louise just this week, enjoying her new life! This story is a
great reminder of what we can accomplish when citizens and local
animal welfare agencies work together!
New Albany Shelter Asks Us To Spread The
Word David Hall, Director of the
New
Albany Floyd County Animal Control And Shelter, asked
Indiana-PAW to encourage our partners in the animal welfare
community to complete a form that the Humane Society of the United
States has crafted to show support of Indiana Senate Bill 482 and
House Bill 1472, which are designed to keep dangerous wild animals
out of our communities, thereby protecting public health and safety,
as well as animal welfare. Mr. Hall tells Indiana-PAW that his
community is having a big problem with exotic animals, especially
wolf-hybrids. Click

Indiana-PAW Plea Helps Rushville Animal Shelter
Puppies
 Rushville Animal Shelter puppy saved.
TD> TR> | Three weeks ago, we made a plea for
the Rushville
Animal Shelter, which had an emergency need for foster homes for
a litter of puppies. The plea worked, and the puppies were
saved! Here's what Jaime Glandon, the shelter rescue
coordinator, had to say: "Thank you Indiana-PAW
for your write up about my shelter pups. Since sending out your
newsletter, I had gotten several offers to help. Luckily Mercy
Rescue stepped in and took all 14 (the litter already in the shelter
and the litter that was going to be surrendered). I had also gotten
an offer from another wonderful rescue that was willing to take all
14. After they saw the write-up you did, they contacted me. So again
thank you for all your help. 14 pups are now safe and warm and in no
danger of being put down. I hope to work with you often in the
future." We were glad to help, and look forwarding to continuing
to work with the hardworking Rushville Animal Shelter!

Indiana-PAW Foster Parents Save Lives
 Barney - with an Indiana-PAW
foster parent, and looking for a
home. | Every day, Indiana-PAW
foster parents save lives by fostering animals for overcrowded
Indiana shelters and rescue groups. Recently, Volunteers
For Animal Welfare (a Cedar Grove, IN organization) used an
Indiana-PAW foster parent to help save the life of a boxer named
Barney. Here's what Paula Brock, the founder of Volunteers For
Animal Welfare, had to say: "Hi Amy, just wanted you to know that
Jenny, who emailed me from your website...took Barney into foster
tonight. We met in Greensburg. She seems like a very nice person.
Thanks for your help AGAIN. Love all you do. Paula." We're glad
to help Barney, and glad to partner with Paula's agency!
Got An Idea For An Indiana-PAW Newsletter? Do you have a blurb you'd like Indiana-PAW
to consider including in an upcoming e-newsletter? If so, contact
our Founder & Executive Director (and e-newsletter editor), Amy Van
Ostrand, Esq. We always welcome story submissions, particularly
from Indiana animal shelters and rescue groups!
Sponsor This E-Newsletter Indiana-PAW is looking
for a corporate sponsor for this e-newsletter, which we send out at
least twice each month. Petlane
sponsors our "Super Database," Lucky
Dog Retreat sponsors our "Pet of the Week" program, and Pet
Supplies "PLUS" sponsors our Resources Page at our website. YOUR
COMPANY could be the proud supporter of our e-newsetter, and have
your banner and name splashed across the bottom of each issue. In so
doing, you would be lending your support to an agency that partners
with and assists animal shelters and rescue groups across the State!
E-mail
us to learn how you can support the lifesaving work our agency
performs.
Thanks to all of YOU for all you do for Indiana animals!
