Indiana-PAW Announces New Foster Program Team
Animal Welfare Agency Triples Program Leadership To Save More
Pets From Euthanasia
Indiana (February 9th, 2007) -
Sadie, foster dog of Tracey
Bruick, Indiana- PAW's new Foster Program Director.
| Indiana-PAW, the State's fastest-growing
animal welfare education agency, announced today that it has tripled
the size of the leadership team that oversees its flagship
foster parent program, in an effort to expand the number of
homeless animals the program can help Indiana animal shelters save
from euthanasia.
Indiana-PAW's foster program supplies
citizens willing to foster animals to Indiana animal shelters and
rescue groups, who use the foster parents to provide temporary care
for animals who would otherwise have to be euthanized. Today,
Indiana-PAW announced that Tracey
Bruick (of Fishers) has been named the agency's new Foster
Program Director, succeeding former program director, Joe Laughlin.
Additionally, Indiana-PAW has created two new Foster Parent
Supervisor positions, which will be filled by Karen
Spikes (of Lafayette) and Tammy
Fraser (of Pendleton). Bruick, Spikes and Fraser are all
long-time Indiana-PAW volunteers, and have themselves provided
lifesaving foster care to hundreds of animals. The new executive
appointments are effective immediately. Joe Laughlin, the former
Foster Program Director, will remain on board with Indiana-PAW as a
consultant.
"Indiana-PAW is thrilled to add the collective
talent of Tracey Bruick, Karen Spikes and Tammy Fraser to our
leadership team," said Amy
Van Ostrand, Esq., Indiana-PAW's Founder & Executive
Director. "Our Board of Directors was impressed by the combination
of demonstrated experience, creative thinking, and raw passion they
bring to the table," said Van Ostrand. "We're confident that, with
their leadership, we'll be able to increase the support we provide
to existing foster parents, as well as attract more foster parents,
enabling us to help even more Indiana animal shelters and rescue
groups with the lifesaving work they do." Van Ostrand adds, "Our
Board of Directors also wishes to express its sincere thanks and
appreciation to Joe Laughlin, who served admirably as our outgoing
Foster Program Director. We appreciate Joes tremendous work for our
agency."
Tracey Bruick is a commercial real estate property
manager, avid supporter of her local animal shelters, and with her
teenaged daughter, has fostered many animals through Indiana-PAW.
Karen Spikes is an animal groomer, dog trainer, former veterinary
assistant, and has fostered animals for more than a decade. Tammy
Fraser is a computer consultant and, along with her husband and
sons, has fostered more than 50 animals in the past year alone.
