Chauffeurs, Maids & Butlers Needed For Homeless Hoosier Pets

Friends,

Tonight, we're writing to ask for your help on two fronts. First, we're looking for more "chauffeurs" for our transport program, which provides life-saving assistance to animals in overcrowded shelters. Second, we're looking for "maids and butlers" - i.e., heroes willing to open their homes as foster parents temporarily for animals who will otherwise have to be euthanized. Read on to learn how you can help . . .

Wanted: Chauffeurs
This week, we at Indiana-PAW took an important step towards increasing usage of our animal transport program, through which our volunteers transport animals from shelters where they're at risk for euthanasia to rescue groups and other shelters with space on the adoption floor. This week, Megan Carroll, one of our Board Members, became our inaugural Transport Coordinator. Now that we have a designated program administrator, we hope more shelters and rescue groups will take advantage of the program. If your shelter or rescue group would like us to forward your transport request to our volunteers, click here. And, if you're interested in being a "chauffeur" (i.e., a transport volunteer) for homeless pets, please click here!

Wanted: Maids & Butlers
Indiana-PAW is also making a plea on behalf of the shelters and rescue groups below - all of whom are in dire need of help from citizens who are willing to open their homes as foster parents temporarily for animals. Remember - Indiana- PAW will transport ANY of the foster animals below TO YOUR HOME if you'll help!

Wag's Stray Animal Foundation Needs A Nursing Mom
Wag's Stray Animal Foundation has asked Indiana-PAW to spread the word that they have an emergency need for a nursing momma dog for 7 orphaned puppies who were found abandoned in a garage in Beech Grove. Also, we're sure Wag's would also love a foster home willing to assist. If you can help in either respect, click here or call Pam at Wag's Stray Animal Foundation, Inc. at 317-335-7354.

LUV A DOG Needs Foster Homes
LUV A DOG, an all-breed canine rescue agency with locations in Indianapolis and Morgantown must close by February 25th. They have an emergency need for foster homes for approximately 17 dogs and 2 cats. All of the dogs are spayed/neutered, have their shots, are microchipped, and have been heartworm tested. LUV A DOG will provide dog food to any willing foster parents. If you can help, please call Christina with LUV A DOG at 317-523-4785.

Jeffersonville, Indiana Rescue Group Needs Help
The Animal Adoption Network of Kentuckiana (AANOK), located in Jeffersonville, IN, has asked Indiana-PAW to put out the word that they need emergency help. They must close their doors in the next few weeks, and are in dire need of foster homes for approximately 25 cats (including Persians, Calicos, Torties, and short-hairs). If you can help, please call AANOK's Founder, Joanna Johnson, at 502-599-9395, or send an e-mail to one of her volunteers by clicking here.

Morgan County Humane Society Needs Help
The Morgan County Humane Society, located in Martinsville, Indiana, has asked Indiana-PAW to put out the word that they are flooded with animals, and need foster homes for a dog named Patty, a skinny shepherd mix, and her 9 puppies, who are just a few weeks old. They also need a foster home for a beautiful black spaniel named Lady Bug, along with her pups, who are due any day. If someone will foster these mama dogs and their puppies, the Morgan County Humane Society will work to find them permanent, loving homes. If you can help, call Diane Hess at 765-349-9177 or at 765-342-0903, or e-mail her.

Mazi needs a foster home.
Hamilton County Humane Needs Foster Home For Mazi
The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) needs an experienced foster parent for a beautiful dog named Mazi (pictured at left). Mazi arrived at the shelter with about nine pups. Those that survived have all been adopted. Mazi was adopted out, but was returned to the shelter after she became a bit over protective of her new adoptive parent. HSHC feels Mazi can still make a great pet, under the right circumstances. However, the shelter is always very full, and so a foster home is needed for Mazi. If you can help, click here.

Animal Welfare League Of Kosciusko County Needs Help
The Animal Welfare League (AWL) of Kosciusko County has asked Indiana-PAW to let folks know they need a foster home for a beautiful, sweet Shepard-mix and her 6 puppies, who are 6 weeks old. They also need a foster home to provide 8 weeks of care to a lovely Chocolate lab mom who is due to have puppies any day. If you can help, please contact Rhonda at 574-267-3008.

And thanks to all of YOU for all you do for Indiana animals!
