Indiana-PAW Rolls Easter Eggs & News Your Way
Indiana-PAW Friends,
We hope this finds you enjoying a
happy Easter weekend with your family and friends. Below, we ask you
to support the largest animal shelter in the State, introduce to you
to a new coalition dedicated to one of Indiana's most at-risk breeds
of dog, and more. Read our "Easter eggs" below that we hope will
inspire and motivate you!
Indiana's Busiest Animal Shelter Needs Your
Support We at Indiana-PAW
are calling upon citizens to offer special support for one of the
hardest working and busiest animal shelters in our state: Indianapolis
Animal Care & Control (IACC). This year, unfortunately, IACC
is anticipating a record number of animals entering its shelter, and
citizens can play a vitally important, lifesaving role in helping
IACC get as many of these animals into safe homes as possible.
Here's how you can use your life to make a difference for 20,000
homeless animals:
- Volunteer your time at IACC to help walk dogs, socialize cats,
and perhaps give an animal one of their first experiences of being
treated with kindness and love. Click
here to complete an online volunteer application.
- Donate critically needed funding to help the more than 20,000
animals IACC will serve in 2008, by sending a donation to the Friends
of Indianapolis Animal Care & Control Foundation (FIACCF),
which is the 501(c)(3) agency that accepts donations to benefit
IACC animals.
- Adopt your next best friend from IACC. Many of Indiana-PAW's
Board Members have adopted from IACC, and we have had wonderful
experiences with this shelter. Click
here to see the wonderful animals at IACC awaiting homes, or
visit
in person to meet these wonderful pets.
- If you are a breed-specific rescue group, please contact IACC
to discuss pulling animals from the shelter. IACC works
collaboratively with many rescue agencies, to great lifesaving
effect.

Terre Haute Humane Society Helps Abused Dog Find New
Life
 Anastasia got a second
chance thanks to THHS. | The Terre
Haute Humane Society shared a wonderful story recently with Indiana-PAW.
A dog named Anastasia arrived at the shelter, having been neglected
and shot in the leg. THHS secured a spot for her with a rescue
agency, arranged for her to have amputation surgery, transported her
to a foster home, and then helped her on her path to a wonderful new
life. Kudos to THHS for their continuing good work for animals like
Anastasia, and please remember that THHS is a terrific shelter from
which to adopt an animal.

is looking to adopt
a pet, is having problems
with their pet, or wants to find out how
they can help Indiana's homeless pet population, please send
them to our Indiana-PAW
website. We have extensive information about resources across
Indiana, and we update the information frequently. Just today, we
added information about parenting
courses at an Indianapolis hospital that are designed to help
new parents introduce their infants to the family pet. Additionally,
we've recently added new information about low
cost spay/neuter resources. For everything from spay/neuter
clinics to emergency
vets, visit our resources
page.
