Opportunity #6: Join A National Group On Pet-Disaster Preparation
Glacier What would you do with your pets if disaster struck? If you're like most of us, you'd stay with them, as many did in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Indiana-PAW volunteer Keith Lender asked that we pass on information about a new national group you can join that's working to help make these decisions easier. National Disaster Animal Rescue & Supply ( www.ndars.org) is a coalition of dedicated rescuers who believe no animal deserves to be left behind during any type of disaster. Their goal is to provide foster care, supplies, transportation and other items needed for major disasters, like tornados and even terrorist attacks. There will be a coordinator for every state, as well as a central database to volunteer goods or services.

Opportunity #7: Foster Help Need For Tippecanoe County Humane Society
Indiana-PAW has received a plea for help from Wende McKinney, the Breed Rescue/Foster Care Coordinator for the Tippecanoe County Humane Society (TCHS). TCHS recently joined the PetSmart Charities' Rescue Waggin,' a pet transport program that transports dogs and puppies from areas of high pet overpopulation to places where adoptable pets are in demand. TCHS is in desperate need of Indiana-PAW volunteers who are willing to foster these dogs and puppies for 2 weeks prior to their transport date. We're hoping some of our dedicated volunteers and foster parents can help TCHS. In addition, TCHS is in dire need of a foster home for a wonderful 11 month old dog named Malachi who likes other dogs, likes cats, likes kids, is housebroken, walks well on a leash, and is a very handsome Pit Bull for whom time is of the essence.

If you can foster a dog or puppy for TCHS, click here to e-mail Wende.

Opportunity #8: Rescue Farm Needs Volunteers, Donations, Supplies To Build Cat Sanctuary Near Bloomington
Rescue Farm, an Indiana-PAW partner, has contacted us for help. Rescue Farm is an animal shelter based in Ellettsville, Indiana, and they have ambitious plans to build a 40 acre, all breed rescue sanctuary, much like the Best Friends animal sanctuary in Utah. This will be a tremendous help to homeless animals in Monroe County. To make this happen, Rescue Farm needs volunteers, donations of building supplies, etc.

If you'd like to help Rescue Farm build this much-needed sanctuary, click here to e-mail Jodi & Matt Schermerhorn

Thank you for all YOU do for Indiana animals!
