Friends,

The 4th of July is just a week away! Before you finish packing your cooler with barbeque fixins' and pull out your firecrackers, take a moment to read this newsletter and learn how YOU can protect your pets on one of the most dangerous holidays of the year. And, while you're at it, maybe you'll enjoy some of the other news below about how you can help homeless Hoosier pets this summer. Enjoy this newsletter, and thank you for all you do to support our mission of helping Indiana's neediest animals!

Stars, Stripes & Healthy Pets Forever - Protect Fluffy & Fido This Fourth of July!
Firework Did you know that the 4th of July is one of the most dangerous holidays for our furry friends? July 5th is the busiest day of the year for animal shelters, who are inundated with pets who panicked at the noise of firecrackers and fled into the night, winding up lost, injured or killed. Click here to read our 5-step press release to keep your pets safe, or click here to read our detailed "Points To PAWnder" on 4th of July safety.

Indiana-PAW E-Bulletin Boards Offer Something For Everyone

A puppy looking for a home.
Are you looking for adorable puppies in need of a home? Looking for interesting news articles involving animals or animal welfare issues? Trying to find a lost animal's owners? Want to learn about how to protect your pets during the hot summer weather? No matter what you're looking for, Indiana-PAW's e-bulletin boards can probably help! This week, for example, we have interesting news articles about pet-friendly real estate and a pit bull recovering from a feline attack (yep, you read that right). We're also featuring photos of darling homeless puppies for whom our Foster Parent Supervisor, Tammy Fraser, is attempting to find permanent homes. Click here to visit our e-boards.

Terre Haute Humane Society Needs Help
THHS The Terre Haute Humane Society (a hardworking shelter that Indiana-PAW recently visited and videotaped) has asked Indiana-PAW to help get the word out that the shelter is very full and adoptions have been slow, putting animals at risk. They would be thrilled and grateful for help from breed specific rescue groups who have space for animals, and from foster parents. If you can help, please e-mail Sharon Mattison, the shelter's Rescue Coordinator at slmcpa@aol.com. Thanks!

Cats Haven Could Use Supplies!
Dog News One of Indiana-PAW's favorite local animal welfare agencies, Cats Haven, is extremely busy this summer caring for momma cats and their kittens. We are therefore encouraging our constituents to consider donating clay litter, kitten food, paper towels and Clorox Clean-Up to help Cats Haven with their good work. If you can donate a small item, please contact Cats Haven volunteer Sue Hobbs at susan@pjfuzzypaws.com. Thank you, guys!

Become Part Of The Indiana-PAW "Foster Program Booster Club"

Barkely, Freckles, Studs Terkel, and Punkin received life-saving foster care from an Indiana-PAW foster parent.
Do you want to help save the lives of animals in local shelters who are at risk for euthanasia, but you just can't open your home up to offer foster care (maybe because you have pets of your own, small kids, or live in an apartment)? Well good news: you can STILL HELP save these animals lives, by joining the Indiana-PAW Foster Program Booster Club! Our foster program offers lifesaving assistance to hundreds of animals who local shelters would otherwise be forced to euthanize. A minimal donation of $50 will earn you a spot in the Indiana-PAW Foster Parent Booster Club, and will earn you recognition on our website, an invitation to an annual foster parent appreciation dinner, and bi-annual photos of at least two animals whom your donation has helped. Click here to make your minimal donation of $50 to join the Indiana-PAW Foster Parent Booster Club, and THANK YOU for your support!

Thanks to all of our readers for all you do for Indiana animals!
