Good News/Bad News From Indiana-PAW
Indiana-PAW Friends,
Life is often a mixed bag of nuts.
And tonight, we at Indiana- PAW are writing with some good news, and
some sad news.
Sad News: Update On "Connersville Kitten
Project"
 These two kittens had
one infected eye each removed, and are recovering well.
FONT> | Indiana-PAW would like to
thank the 26 generous people who responded to our recent plea for
donations to assist us in our "Connersville Kitten Project,"
involving our efforts to help 10-15 sick kittens in Connersville,
Indiana receive life-saving treatment and be spayed/neutered and
vaccinated. You must have been emotionally affected by the
newsletter we sent you with photos of two of the kittens with
severely abscessed eyes, because you donated a generous $1,145.00 to
this project. We've used a portion of your donations to reimburse
the generous folks at IndyFeral,
who have already treated, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated four of
the kittens, and are providing continuing support and expertise to
Indiana-PAW on this project. Of the four kittens: two had to have an
eye removed due to life-threatening infection, but are healing well
and going to Cat's
Haven, where they will be adopted out into permanent,
responsible homes; another one was able to keep both of his eyes,
and is also going to Cat's Haven with his littermates; and, sadly,
one passed away (a vet who examined her body opined that her immune
system was likely too compromised to survive). The larger update,
however, is that Indiana-PAW and other agencies working on this
project, including HELP
The Animals, Inc. and IndyFeral,
have learned there are more animals involved in this case than we
initially knew, and thus, our agencies are deepening our
involvement. Please stay tuned for further updates on this
developing case, and how your dollars are being put to work for
these animals.
