600 Kids, 3 Puppies & Indiana-PAW!
Lots of great news this week . . .
Indiana-PAW Travels To Rising Sun To Educate 600 Students
What do 600 kids, 3 puppies, and Indiana-PAW
have in common? We spent the day together Friday
in Rising Sun, Indiana! That's right - as part of the "Indiana-
PAW Speaker Series," Education Director Leslie Cox and
Executive Director Amy Van Ostrand made the long drive to
Rising Sun (on the Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky border, a few
minutes from Cincinnati), where Leslie put on a program for
600 elementary and middle school children. Our visit was
arranged by officials at the Ohio County Animal Shelter, who
joined us with adoptable puppies. We provided the students
with information they can take home to their families, helping
to improve the lives of animals in their community. If you'd
like to support additional school programs, we encourage you
to donate via our Paypal feature!

Warren County Animal Shelter In Dire Need
Rocco, one of the
many dogs available from the Warren County Animal Shelter.

The Warren County Animal Shelter (which does a tremendous
job on a shoestring budget and with virtually no support) has
notified Indiana-PAW that they are overflowing, and will be left
with no choice but to euthanize dogs if they are not adopted or
placed into foster homes soon. There are many beautiful,
sweet dogs who are in urgent need of placement, including a
beagle, a rottweiler, a black lab, a St. Bernard-mix, and a
sweet brindle pit bull. Indiana-PAW volunteers are
available to transport the dogs anywhere in the State if homes
or foster homes can be located.

Pit Bulls - One Of Indiana's Most At-Risk Groups Of Animals
Pit Bulls can be excellent, loving family pets, yet abuse and
overpopulation plague this breed, making them one of the most
at-risk groups of animals in Indiana. Indiana-PAW is proud to
partner with ASTRO (American Pit Bull Terrier/American
Staffordshire Rescue Organization) to provide Indiana citizens
with the information they need if they are considering the
adoption of a pit bull, and/or if they are already a pit bull
owner. Click here to learn more.
As always, thank you for your support and well wishes. Please
let us know if we can improve our operations in any way - we
rely on you to tell us what we're doing right, and where we can
do better.
