Tayte - ADOPTED!

Tayte Background: Poor Tayte was left at the Ohio County Animal Shelter while they were closed. Tayte is a lab mix, maybe with Basenji because of his curly tail and face mask. He seems to be less than a year old, and is probably close to being full grown at only 40 pounds. Tayte is very human-oriented, and loves adults and kids. He gets along well with other dogs too!

Gender: Male

Breed: Lab mix, maybe with Basenji

Approximate Age: 9 months

Spay/Neuter Status: Tayte will need to be neutered once he is adopted.

Vaccinations: Yes, Tayte is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm tested, and on preventative!

Housetrained: It is unknow if Tayte is housetrained, but he is young and very eager to please. He would probably would be a breeze to train.

Compatibility With Children: Tayte loves all humans, no matter what the size.

Compatibility With Other Pets: Tayte gets along well with other dogs, but has not yet been cat tested.

Personality: Tayte has a great Lab personality. He is always happy, playful and loving. He loves attention and affection, and is very eager to please. Tayte would be a great substitution for a "real" lab, because he is only half the size -- the perfect size for a house dog.

Ideal Home: Tayte is looking for a family who loves him, will take him for walks, play with him, and teach him how a family can love.

To Adopt: If you are interested in adopting Tayte, you may contact the Ohio County Animal Shelter at 812-438-9220 or visit the shelter's website at www.ocas.petfinder.com or contact us by e-mail at amy4448@hotmail.com.

Buddy & Juneaux - Best Friends - ADOPTED!

juneauxBuddyBackground: Buddy & Juneaux are very special friends who are looking for their dream to come true. Buddy (the black German Shepherd on the left) is blind and has been since adolescence. For almost their entire lives, Juneaux has served as Buddy's "eyes". Recently, their owner who raised them from puppies had to move and couldn't take them. It would be a dream come true if someone could adopt these two friends as a pair so they can live out the rest of their lives together. Anyone have room for a sweet couple in their lives?

Gender: Buddy - Male; Juneaux - Female

Breed: Buddy - Black German Shepherd; Juneaux - Alaskan Malmute

Approximate Age: Both are 9 years old, but ready for their second chance at life!

Spay/Neuter Status: Both have been spayed/neutered.

Vaccinations: Yes, both Buddy & Juneaux are up-to-date on their vaccinations. When they came to the shelter, they both tested positive for heartworm, but have been treated and successfully recovered. They're now the picture of health and ready to go home!

Housetrained: Contact Brown County Humane Society for more information.

Personality: These two are such a sweet pair of dogs. You couldn't find better friends. They may have a few years on them, but they're still full of life and live to give it to you and your family.

Ideal Home: Buddy & Juneaux's dream would be to find a home where they could live the rest of their lives together. They've been together since they were puppies, and depend and rely on each other. Hopefully someone out there can make their dream come true!

To Adopt: If you can offer these two senior beauties a home, please contact Cathi Eagan, Brown County Humane Society volunteer, at eagan@indiana.edu or (812) 720-0005. You can also visit their website at www.bchumane.org.
