Indiana-PAW Pet Of The Week Sponsored By

Boomer

Boomer Background: Boomer is so handsome he could stop traffic or cause a twenty-care pileup. :-) This three year-old male Great Pyrenees found himself dumped at a shelter after his owner decided he wasn't working out as a livestock guardian. Frankly, we think it may be the case that Boomer simply wanted to be a loved family pet, and not a "working dog." Boomer has a very sweet temperament, and is a big, easygoing guy who's looking for a new home and a new life.

Gender: Male

Breed: Great Pyrenees

Approximate Age: 3 years old

Spay/Neuter Status: Yes, Boomer is neutered!

Vaccinations: Yes, Boomer is up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm tested, and on preventative!

Housetrained: Yes, Boomer is housetrained, and can be left uncrated without incident!

Compatibility With Children: Check with Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue to see how Boomer does with children.

Compatibility With Other Pets: Boomer does well with other dogs AND even with cats!

Personality: Boomer has a very sweet temperament, and is a big, easygoing guy. He may not be great with livestock, but he'll make someone a great family pet. This big guy is a lover.

Ideal Home: Boomer needs to go to a home that promises to let him be an INDOOR pet, with outside privileges. His ideal home will require an above-ground fenced yard -- not underground fencing. Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue and Indiana-PAW both highly recommend obedience training for all dogs. This ensures a successful adoption, and also helps create a special bond between you and your new friend.

To Adopt: Boomer is available for adoption through Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue. Anyone interested will need to complete an adoption application, provide references, and have a home visit by Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue. Max Jr. - ADOPTED!

Max JrBackground: Looking for a young dog to keep you company? Look no further than Max Jr. Max has been at the Clinton County Humane Society for about four weeks now, and he's ready to go home with you! Max would rather sit in your lap than play with his toys.

Gender: Male

Breed: Beagle/Lab Mix

Approximate Age: 7 months old and won't get very large (currently 30 lbs.)

Spay/Neuter Status: Yes, Max Jr. is neutered!

Vaccinations: Yes, Max Jr. is up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm tested, and on preventative!

Housetrained: Max Jr. is just about housetrained. As soon as he is on a schedule in a forever home, it will be no problem.

Compatibility With Children: Max Jr. is extremely affectionate and should do well with most anyone.

Compatibility With Other Pets: Max Jr. seems to get along with all critters!

Personality: Max Jr. is just a big lover -- he'd rather sit in your lap than play with his toys. He has an unusual stubby tail, and the shelter isn't sure if he was born that way or not. Max's fur is incredibly soft and he doesn't shed much. He doesn't mind baths and loves to go for walks. Max Jr. is just the perfect companion.

Ideal Home: Max Jr.'s ideal home would have a fenced-in yard or invisible fence for him to get some exercise. Most important, however, is someone to love.

To Adopt: To adopt Max Jr., contact the Clinton County Humane Society in Frankfort, Indiana at 765-654-7717 or email them at cchs04@sbcglobal.net. You can also see Max Jr. on line at www.cchumane.petfinder.org.
