Cappy - ADOPTED!

Cappy Background: Looking for a cuddly guy for some warm summer nights? Maybe The Captain (aka Cappy) is your man. Cappy (and his sister Tenille) came from a bad situation - their owner couldn't afford to feed them, and didn't even live at the house anymore. Now, Cappy is looking for a stable home where he will always have food, shelter, and someone who will love him. Cappy is quite the handsome little boy with very soft golden fur -- he looks like a little lion! Maybe you'd like to bring Cappy home?

Gender: Male

Breed: Golden/Akita mix (not very big, and most likely won't get very big)

Approximate Age: 5 1/2 months old

Spay/Neuter Status: Yes, Cappy is neutered!

Vaccinations: Yes, Cappy is up-to-date on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative!

Housetrained: Yes, Cappy is paper-trained and crate-trained!

Compatibility With Children: Cappy would be a great family pet, and should do well with children.

Compatibility With Other Pets: Cappy loves playing with other dogs!

Personality: Cappy is as sweet as can be, and his foster mom says he's her "little shadow." He just loves to please and to be with you, and is very friendly. Plus Cappy LOVES to play in his doggie swimming pool on hot days :-) Cappy would make a wonderful family pet!

Ideal Home: Cappy isn't looking for anything too special -- just people who love him and a family to call his own!

To Adopt: To adopt Cappy, contact Volunteers For Animal Welfare (Cedar Grove, Indiana) by calling 765-647-3248. You can also visit them on the web at www.vfaw.petfinder.com

Sandy

SandyBackground: Looking for a one-of-a-kind dog? Sandy is a very special yellow Lab-mix who is young, hip, and beautiful! Just take a look at her - how could you not love her face? Really, she's a card, as her foster dad can attest! Sandy was rescued in Southern Indiana through another rescue whose volunteer had found her and one of her older puppies with her VERY near starvation. Now, however, Sandy is happy, healthy and looking for the perfect family. The happiest part of her day is seeing you walk in the door. If you are searching for a very friendly and outgoing dog who loves other dogs and people, then look no further! "Down," "sit," "stay," and "come" are all part of her repertoire. If you are looking for a friendly, happening young pup to be a part of your family, please visit Sandy!

Gender: Female

Breed: Lab/Akita Mix (she weighs approx. 85 lbs.!)

Approximate Age: 18 to 24 months old

Spay/Neuter Status: Yes, Sandy is spayed!

Vaccinations: Yes, Sandy is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm tested, and on preventative!

Housetrained: Yes, Sandy is housetrained and has never had an accident in the house! Sandy is also crate-trained, but prefers to sleep out of her crate on her blanket.

Compatibility With Children: Sandy loves kids of all sizes, and would be a great family dog!

Compatibility With Other Pets: Sandy is extremely dog-oriented. She's submissive and non-aggressive, yet strong and confident with a pack mentality. She seems to want to engage all other animals in play. She also seems to do well with cats.

Personality: Sandy has a very gentle and curious nature. She loves humans and animals, and has demonstrated a free spirit. She's eager to please and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement.

Ideal Home: For someone who has the patience to continue with positive reinforcement, Sandy will be a wonderful addition to the family. She requires room to run, and displays a strong pack mentality, so her forever home ideally will have another dog. Sandy will need a fenced yard, but you shouldn't leave her alone in the yard -- she has a tendency to dig under the fence when she wants out.

To Adopt: If you're interested in adopting Sandy, you may contact Love Of Labs (LOLIN) at lolin@insightbb.com or, visit their website at www.lolin.org.
