Sheena

Sheena Background: Hi! My name is Sheena. I spent the first 7 years of my life as a spoiled, well loved, well cared for princess. Unfortunately, I lost my owner when he passed away suddenly, and I am looking for a family who will care for me again. I'd prefer to stay an only child with no other dogs living in the house. I've spent most of my life as the only dog and just prefer it stay that way. I also don't really care for cats. I'm not a young gal, but I do have a lot of life left to live for the right family. If you have a quiet laid back life, I might just fit in with you. I need a fairly quiet home but MUST have previous Rottweiler experience. I have a very confident personality and would not do well with kids, cats or other dogs living in the home. Can I be part of your family?

Gender: Female

Breed: Rottweiler

Approximate Age: 7 years old

Spay/Neuter Status: Yes, Sheena is spayed!

Vaccinations: Sheena is up-to-date on her vaccines including DHLPP, rabies and taking heartworm preventative. She's also been tested and is heartworm NEGATIVE.

Housetrained: Yes, Sheena is absolutely, wonderfully housetrained. She's the perfect household companion.

Compatibility With Children: Sheena would do best living in a home with NO children.

Compatibility With Other Pets: Sheena prefers to be an only pet.

Personality: Sheena is a very intelligent, confident, if not somewhat spoiled, self determined dog. Sheena is a wonderful house companion. She absolutely refuses to get on furniture and has had no issues staying home while her foster home is at work during the day.

Ideal Home: Sheena's ideal home would be a home with mature individuals, no kids and no other animals. She has spent most of her life as a very pampered, only pet and would do best to continue this in her new home. She would be perfectly suited for a single individual looking for a companion to take long walks with and she will be well behaved while you are at work during the day. Sheena would also do well with an older couple who does not want to go through all the puppy phases of a dogs life. Keep in mind Sheena has a true Rottweilers personality and is VERY confident and VERY intelligent. She MUST have owners who enjoy this type of personality on a dog. If you enjoy having a dog that is as smart as you are and who is not afraid of anything, then Sheena just might be the dog for you. A fenced in yard is a REQUIREMENT!

To Adopt: To adopt Sheena, contact INKY Rottweiler Rescue. You can visit their home page and complete an adoption application. You can visit them at www.inkyrr.org. Anyone considered for Sheena's adoption MUST be willing to travel (if necessary) to meet her and MUST pass approval process with Sheena's current foster home. Sheena's foster mom knows her best and WILL have final say as to who adopts her. For reference Sheena is currently living in Lafayette, IN. No applications who have children (under the age of 16) living in the home, even part time will be considered.

Buttercup - ADOPTED!

Buttercup Background: Would you be willing to open your home to a girl who's had a tough start to her life? Buttercup is a sweet, young Golden Retriever mix who wants nothing more than to love you and be with you all the time. But Buttercup came from a tough situation: there were nine dogs, including two of her own puppies, that were pretty much abandoned at a deserted trailer. The owner only came back every few days to feed and water them. That's not the way a beautiful girl like Buttercup should be treated! Let's give Buttercup the special home she needs and wants.

Gender: Female

Breed: Golden Retriever Mix - about 35-40 lbs. (A good size for almost everyone!)

Approximate Age: Only 2 years old!

Spay/Neuter Status: Yes, Buttercup has been spayed!

Vaccinations: Yes, Buttercup is up to date with all routine vaccinations. She's also been tested and is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.

Housetrained: Buttercup is crate-trained and seems to be housebroken.

Compatibility With Children: Buttercup would likely do fine in a household with children.

Compatibility With Other Pets: Buttercup gets along OK with most dogs, but would probably be happier if she was the only dog in the house (so she can get all the attention!). We're not sure how Buttercup does around cats.

Personality: Buttercup likes to be with you. That is what makes her happiest. She would make someone a very loyal little companion. Buttercup would love you forever if you would give her the loving home she so deserves.

Ideal Home: Buttercup's ideal home would be one where she was the only dog, where she has a nice fenced yard to play in, and was loved like she deserves. She's a really wonderful dog who deserves the best.

To Adopt: To adopt Buttercup, contact Volunteers For Animal Welfare (Cedar Grove, Indiana) by calling 765-647-3248 for more info. You can also visit them on the web at www.vfaw.petfinder.com.
